Introducing the “Half Camera Bag,” a new category designed for the “perfect relationship between the camera and myself,” where each space is split roughly in half. The inner box, named “Cura Box,” occupies about half of the total capacity. It features internal flaps to smartly partition two cameras, or one camera with lenses and other peripherals. Despite its unbelievable lightness, its protection capability secures your precious gear.

Design & Functionality Details

Stress-free Access: This bag is designed to allow you to take gear in and out without stress, even when the top is left open.
Aesthetic Design: Even when open, the zipper remains hidden from the front, so it does not compromise the bag’s beauty. You can use it open for convenience or zip it up on rainy days or when the bag is full.
Camera Protection: There are no metal fittings on the camera-facing side to prevent scratches.
Premium Look: The casual side features high-quality zippers for a sophisticated appearance.

The Concept: “Half Camera, Half You.”

A camera bag with a perfectly balanced 50/50 relationship. Space for the camera is kept to just what is necessary. In exchange, the remaining space can be used freely to fit the user’s lifestyle. Carry a camera and draw the scenery in a sketchbook; take digital photos and immediately transfer them to an iPad or PC for editing; or take film photos while jotting down the location’s characteristics in a notebook. We defined that besides the camera, other items are necessary to “use” those photos. That is why the camera space is only half. The other half is for whatever else you need—handy fans, mobile batteries, AC adapters, and more.

3 Key Development Points

Charm as a Bag: Our goal was not just a “camera bag that doesn’t look like one,” but a bag that is attractive in its own right. Beauty lies not just in looks, but in the benefits of continued use.
Protection and Stress-Free Access: It covers the basics: “protect the camera” and “easy access.” Furthermore, it must be usable while open, stress-free for gear removal, and securely closable when needed. It provides solid protection with no elements that could scratch the camera.
Versatility for Daily Outfits: We incorporated formal elements so it can be used for commuting as well as weekends. The design is smart and doesn’t interfere with your fashion. It is lightweight enough for daily carry and matches various styles, from T-shirts and button-downs to jackets.

Materials & Construction

Main Material: We used Toray’s Ultrasuede®, which boasts a texture extremely close to high-quality genuine leather, along with outstanding durability and ease of maintenance.
Lightweight Construction: By eliminating unnecessary core materials and linings, we achieved a surprising weight of just 660g.
Closing Mechanism: The opening uses a lid made of Milliclose material with a drop-down zipper, allowing for easy opening and closing. You can switch between an “Open/Lightweight” mode and a “Closed/Secure” mode depending on the scene.

Furthermore, we have taken meticulous care to ensure that no metal hardware is exposed on the camera-facing side, providing total protection against scratches to your precious gear. For added utility, the base of the strap is also equipped with a functional loop designed for attaching carabiners and other accessories

Refined Details Woven from Dignity and Functionality

For the main material, we adopted Toray’s Ultrasuede®, which boasts a texture indistinguishable from premium genuine leather while offering exceptional durability and ease of maintenance. By eliminating unnecessary stiffeners and linings, we achieved a startlingly light weight of just 660g. *Ultrasuede® uses sugarcane residue as one of its raw materials, and currently about 30% of it is plant-derived.

YKK EXCELLA®: This high-quality zipper features a jewel-like shine, achieved by meticulously polishing each individual element (tooth) of the zipper. Its smooth operation and beautiful luster further enhance the overall luxurious feel of the bag. It also features a large Ultrasuede® pull tab for easy access, even when wearing gloves.

MilliCloth: The hinged lid is combined with MilliCloth, a super-high-density woven Ventile-type material. This material has high water-repellent properties, preventing water from entering from the opening and bottom.
