The 25 Rucksack is perfect for the serious photographer who wants to spread the load across both shoulders. Intended to carry a small-to-medium DSLR or mirrorless plus several lenses with a high level of protection. Made in England with 3-layer waterproof fabric and real leather.

DENSE PADDED INSERT
The main compartment of the bag features dense foam padding all-round. This is up to 2.5cm (1") thick in places to protect  your equipment from bumps, knocks and general movement.

Additionally, inside the main compartment are removable, repositionable padded foam dividers (2x long dividers and 2x short dividers) to create places to store spare lenses, light meters etc.

INTERNAL POCKET
An internal pocket provides space to put notebooks or passports or even an iPad with up to 10.5" screen size. If carrying an iPad you may want to add a slim case to protect it from coming into contact with your camera equipment.

RAIN COVER AND FRONT POCKET
The rain cover has an adjustable drawstring pull that helps to stop rain or snow getting into the main compartment. The large front pocket is also protected by a separate fabric and leather trim. Both pockets open with a double zipper for easy access.

SHOULDER STRAPS
Ergonomically designed shoulder straps made with a central backing of padded spacer fabric promote breathability and make it easier to carry the bag for long periods.

HANGING HOOK
A hook is stitched onto the back to allow the bag to be hung up should you not want it sitting on the floor.

BRASS FEET
The bag has brass feet mounted to strong leather corner patches on the bottom. Together these help prevent wear to the main body of the bag and extend its longevity.

ABILITY TO ADD END POCKETS
Add any of our AVEA End Pockets to the strong leather side patches (one each side) for extra storage and organization whilst out and about.

Aftercare

CLEANING AND CARE

Billingham bags are designed to grow old gracefully! Professional photographers usually prefer a well-worn, battle-scarred Billingham to a new clean version; however, you may wish to reduce the grime level on your Billingham so here are a few tips:

  • Remove any padded inserts, dividers and the base foam.
  • DON'T put your Billingham into a washing machine; the detergent will almost certainly ruin the leather.
  • DON'T dry clean your Billingham.
  • Place the bag on a draining board and wash the bag with warm soapy water, using a nail brush on stubborn areas of dirt (don't submerge the bag in the water).
  • Wash all soap away with clear water and allow to dry naturally (airing cupboard) or at least without too much heat. Excessive heat might affect the Stormblock waterproofing or the leather. Also, DON'T put the bag in a tumble dryer or equivalent device.
  • When the bag is dry carefully apply leather dressing to the binding and leather areas. We recommend Mars oil or Nikwax. Try not to mark the canvas when you are applying the dressing.

The canvas is tough, the dyestuff resistant and Billingham Stormblock waterproofing is incredible, but hard scrubbing might lighten the colour and excessive heat or exposure to acids (such as battery acid) might spoil the Stormblock so please go carefully!

PLEASE NOTE:

  • When storing the bag, we would strongly recommend that you make sure the bag is dry first and is stored in a clean and dry place to prevent bad smells or mould developing. Storing it in a shed or garage is usually a bad idea.
  • The cleaning instructions for removable padded inserts and dividers are the same as for the bags themselves above.
  • We would especially recommend against petroleum-based shoe polishes for treating the leather as they can cause the leather to dry out over time.
